What You're Signing Up For
When you provide your phone number and consent to receive SMS messages from UpTown Climbing, you may receive:
Transactional Messages: Class confirmations, cancellations, reminders, and account status updates related to your specific activities with us, because you love climbing
Informational Alerts: Important non-promotional updates like power outages, emergency closures, holiday hours, and safety notifications, because we don't want you to get frustrated about not climbing
Promotional Messages (opt-in only): Marketing offers, special events, and deals—but only if you specifically choose to receive these, because if you love climbing you might like climbing deals
Surveys and Feedback Requests (opt-in only): Occasional requests for your input to help us improve our services—only if you've opted in to receive promotional messages
Message Frequency
Message frequency varies. Transactional messages are sent as needed based on your account activity. Informational alerts are sent only when necessary (only critical beta spray). Promotional messages are sent occasionally if you opt in—we're not going to blow UP your phone.
Your Control Over SMS Messages
You decide if you are ‘on belay’ or ‘off belay’:
To stop promotional messages: Reply STOP to any promotional text. You'll still receive transactional and informational messages.
To stop informational alerts: Reply INFO-STOP to any informational text. You'll still receive transactional messages related to your active registrations.
To stop all messages: You can manage your SMS preferences through your phone but contact us at info@uptownclimbing.com if you need to
For help: Reply HELP to any message or email us at info@uptownclimbing.com
Important Note: As long as you have active class registrations or an active account, you'll continue to receive transactional SMS messages related to those activities. These are the messages you need to stay informed about your bookings and account.
SMS Consent and Third-Party Sharing
Your SMS consent is NOT shared with third parties or affiliates for their marketing purposes. We respect your privacy and only use your phone number for the purposes described in this policy. So Black Diamond gets none of your jewels. Mammut is kaput. And we'll keep Petzl tied in a NOT!
Costs and Carrier Information
Message and data rates may apply based on your mobile plan. UpTown Climbing is not responsible for carrier charges.

Service Providers We Work With
To run our business and provide you with a great belay or crash pad, we share your information with:
Redpoint HQ: Our climbing gym management software provider that helps us manage your account, classes, and memberships
Sendgrid: Used by Redpoint HQ to send transactional emails when you take actions like registering for a class
Our payment processor: They securely handle your payment information so we don't have to
Our Email Campaign Provider: To send our monthly newsletter to subscribers
Our SMS Messaging Provider: To send important gym alerts or opt-in messages
These partners are contractually obligated to protect your information and only use it for the services they provide to us, in accordance with their policies.
When Law Requires It
We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
What We Don't Do
We do NOT sell your personal information to third parties – that's just rude. We do NOT share your information with affiliates for their marketing purposes. We do NOT rent our email list to random companies. In short, we don't act like "@$$h0!3$."

However, no internet transmission is 100% secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security (but we're doing our small-business best to keep the bad guys out).
